Coral Reef Restaurant Review
Back in June, my family and I visited our favorite place, Walt Disney World! One of our newest family traditions is to eat at a new restaurant each trip. For this trip, we ate at Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot next to The Seas with Nemo and Friends ride. Was this restaurant worth a try? Read to find out!
Here is a view of where we were seated. We had a lunch reservation for 11:30. Although the restaurant was empty, we were not seated next to the aquarium as seen in the picture. I assumed that because we made a reservation we would get seating closer to the tank, but this is not the case. If you would prefer to sit next to the tanks, I would request this when making a reservation or ask your waiter or waitress before being seated. The aquarium was still viewable from the table we were at because the seats are tiered for viewing experience. The lighting was dim with candles at each table, which is perfect for any romantic dining experience.
LETS TALK FOOD!
We did not order any appetizers because of course we were saving for dessert!
First, I'll talk about my meal! So 95% of the time, I order kids meals in Walt Disney World because I never finish an adult meal and I'm a very picky eater. The cast members usually let adults order from the kids meal with no problem.
I ordered the Mac and Cheese from the kid's menu. It was very delicious and the perfect portion size to save room for dessert! You can never go wrong with Mac and Cheese!

My sister and dad both ordered crab cakes from the appetizer menu. The meal consisted of Lump Crab Cakes, Watercress-Citrus Salad and Remolade Sauce. My dad really enjoyed eating this meal. My sister on the other hand wasn't a fan of the Remolade Sauce and said it lacked the flavor she was hoping for having.
My mom ordered the Seared Mahi Mahi. This meal came with Toasted Coconut Rice, Jerk Seasonings, Avocado Crema and Mango-Shrimp Salsa. She also really enjoyed this meal although the portion size was small for the amount we paid for this meal.
NOW TIME FOR THE DESSERT!
My kids meal came with a "Seaside" cupcake. It was the cutest cupcake ever! It was a vanilla cupcake with buttercream white and blue icing topped with fish and starfish sprinkles and a sugared octopus at the top. Your basic vanilla cupcake but still very tasty!
My sister ordered The Chocolate Wave, which came with Raspberry Gelato. She said it tasted good, but it wasn't as good as she thought it would have been.
My parents shared the Key Lime Tart, which came with Raspberry Sauce and Tropical Fruit Glaze. They enjoyed this dessert.
Overall, this was an awesome and unique dining experience. I won't rush back any time soon, but it was certainly worth trying out! Although I wish we were seated closer to the fish tanks, our food and amazing waitress made the experience amazing! I would recommend Coral Reef Restaurant to anyone looking for a unique dining experience in Epcot and enjoys eating seafood, although they did offer other opinions like Chicken and Steak (and I had mac and cheese).
