THE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS
So February 2018 was my first time visiting The Festival of the Arts. It was the only Epcot festival I had never attended and needed to see what all the hype was about! Was it worth checking out? Keep reading to find out my thoughts on Epcot's newest festival!
ARTSY AND COLORFUL
The whole aesthetic of this festival was amazing. As soon as you walk into the park rainbows, bright flowers and a topiary Figment welcomed you with happiness! They designed the front of Epcot so beautifully that I immediately felt super excited to find out what else this festival had to offer.
ART, ART AND MORE ART!
So obviously, this festival was mainly about Art. There was beautiful art everywhere around Epcot. Vendors selling different pieces of art were placed all throughout the park. This was one of my favorite parts about this festival because I was able to look at tons of different Disney art that were gorgeous! The other cool part about the festival was there wasn't just Disney art. There were pretty paintings of scenic landscapes, sculptures and many other handmade pieces that weren't Disney related. I mean hey, we all love Disney, but sometimes we don't want to overload our homes with Disney, so it was nice to see other pretty art pieces as well. Of course, I ended up buying a piece of Disney art and the artist just happened to be there the day I bought it! Stephen Fishwick was nice enough to sign my painting for me and also take a fun picture with me that I'll have forever. It was such an amazing experience to meet him and even have my art signed by him!
ARTSY TREATS
Another awesome part about this festival was the different food stands they had set up around World Showcase. Since I never experienced this festival, I thought there would just be a few food booths set up for people to try new foods for the festival, but I was completely blown away with all the food they had created! I was so excited when I walked in, picked up the festival passport and saw how many food booths they actually had! There was over 15 different booths and many of them had delicious treats! Some of my favorite treats were deconstructed strawberry cheesecake, the filled croissant donut, and the triple chocolate mousse! Here's some pictures so you can drool along with me.
OTHER FESTIVAL OFFERINGS
Besides the beautiful art and delicious food to eat, Festival of the Arts also had a lot of other awesome things to see and do throughout the day. One of my favorite things at the festival was painting the mural! I thought this was an awesome way to join in on the fun and be able to paint a section of a mural that was going to be displayed throughout the festival. When the murals were fully painted, they displayed them where Ellen's Energy Universe was once located. Something else that was really awesome to see was the Chalk Art located in Future World East by the back entrance of Mouse Gear and Mission Space. Artist were able to draw different pieces of Chalk Arts for guests to admire. The different photo ops were also a great idea, even though I did not get a chance to take any due to crowd levels the day I visited the park.
IS IT WORTH A VISIT?
So, is this festival worth a trip to visit? In my opinion, absolutely! This festival exceeded all my expectations. My favorite Festival is Flower and Garden, but Festival of the Arts is pretty close to being just as wonderful. Everything about the festival was amazing from the different art, foods and many activities that they had for the guests throughout Epcot. This year, the festival was January 12-February 19, but I have a feeling they will be extending this festival throughout the next few years! If I were you, I would definitely book your next trip during this festival, not to mention, the weather was PERFECT.
